Fang Guoqiang meets with the delegation of California Energy Commission

On the afternoon of December 12th, Fang Guoqiang, Deputy Mayor of Changzhou, met with the delegation headed by Mr. Robert Weisenmiller, Chairman of the California Energy Commission (CEC), in the Administration Centre of Wujin District.

The CEC delegation came to Wujin through Beijing, Tianjin and Qingdao, in order to drive the promotion and cooperation of clean energy technology between China and USA, and to step up government guidance on environmental protection through energy conservation and emission reduction. The delegates from enterprises of clean energy industry also expect to branch out in Chinese market and seek cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the area of clean energy.

Fang warmly received the delegation, and said that Changzhou and Wujin are devoted to the development of new energy industry and recycling economy, including energy consumption evaluation of new projects, energy-saving and low-carbon initiatives among enterprises, elimination of small-sized coal-fired plants, preferential policies for new energy industry and clean energy technology, etc.

Weisenmiller stated that China and USA possess enormous human resources, scientific knowledge and the will to improve our living environment when facing environmental issues such as air pollution and water pollution, and both countries are making efforts to realize low-carbon cities and improve sustainability and livability. He looked forward to good interaction and cooperation between China and USA in the future towards common goals.
