According to the officially released information from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, on February 9, Jiangsu had 24 newly confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), of which seven were in Nanjing, three were in Lianyungang, two were in Huai’an, one was in Yancheng and one was in Taizhou. 21 additional patients have fully recovered and were discharged from the hospital.
Among the newly confirmed cases, the oldest patient was 80, and the youngest was seven. All of them are currently receiving treatment in designated hospitals and are in stable physical condition.
As of February 9, a total of 492 confirmed cases have been reported in Jiangsu, of which 31 cases were confirmed in Changzhou. As of this update, a total of six patients in Changzhou diagnosed with the NCP have recovered and were subsequently discharged from the hospital.
Experts urge people to stay at home and avoid public situations. Do not use public transportation if possible. Private car drivers are encouraged to open windows for ventilation. Wear a mask if you have to go out, and clean and disinfect your hands often. If symptoms such as fever, cough, soreness of throat, chest distress, breathing difficulty, feebleness or diarrhea have occurred, call 12320 (health hotline) or 85683343 (hotline of Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office for expats) for consultation and seek treatment at one of the designated hospitals if necessary.
