On June 28, the 2024 Library Integrated Development Seminar, themed “Library+ Integration: Shaping the Future," was held at Changzhou Library. Representatives from public libraries nationwide and all member libraries of the Changzhou Library Association attended the event. Deputy Mayor Jiang Pengju delivered the inaugural address.
The seminar unveiled 61 exemplary cases of library integrated development for 2024. Selected institutions showcased their innovative projects, while esteemed industry experts presented keynote speeches.
Public libraries, as key markers of cultural prosperity, are increasingly adopting integrated development strategies. The "Library+" concept epitomizes the modern approach of viewing libraries as dynamic and evolving entities. In recent years, Changzhou has led this movement with initiatives like the Qiubai Reading Yard, fostering robust interactions between public libraries and various sectors. Collaborations with technology, tourism, education, Party building, and foreign affairs have expanded library services beyond traditional confines, embedding them into the daily lives of more citizens.
A highlight of the seminar was the signing of a friendship library agreement between Changzhou Library and Chuncheon City Public Library in South Korea. The ceremony included the exchange of books showcasing the unique cultural heritage of both regions, symbolizing a commitment to fostering cross-cultural connections.
