After a two-year negotiation, Changzhou Kangdi Medical Stapler Co., Ltd. (a private medical device company in Changzhou National High-tech District) officially cooperates with Covidien Ltd. (one of the Fortune 500 Companies). The global strategic alliance between Kangdi Stapler and Covidien was officially initiated on the morning of February 11. They are establishing a joint venture of which Covidien takes majority control.
Founded in 1867, Covidien (formerly known as Tyco Healthcare) is a US-owned listed company specializing in the production of medical devices and medical supplies, diagnostic imaging agent and medicine, classified among the top 10 medical device manufacturers in the world.
Seated in Changzhou National High-tech District (CND), Kangdi Stapler is a company specializing in the development and manufacture of devices for surgery. Its main products include disposable tube stapler, disposable linear stapler, reusable tube stapler, etc. Taking a lead in the domestic market with its product quality and sales volume, Kangdi Stapler also expands internationally and has established sales networks in more than 20 countries.
The joint venture of Covidien and Kangdi Stapler will be dedicated in medical devices that low-income groups can afford.
