On February 24, it was learned from Zenith Steel Group Co., Ltd. that its Technology Center has been recognized as a national enterprise technology center (NETC).
The evaluation of NETC, led by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), identifies domestic enterprises’ technology centers with strong innovation capacities, independent intellectual property rights, and international competitiveness.
The Zenith Steel Technology Center, founded in 2008, was rated as a provincial-level enterprise technology center in 2011. Its partners include RWTH Aachen University, the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Shanghai University, Northeastern University, Luoyang Bearing Research Institute, and ABB Corporate Research Center.
In the past five years, Zenith Steel has developed nearly 200 types of high-quality steel, with 106 national invention patents. At present, the company’s high-quality, special-purpose steels represent 60 percent of its total production.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), Zenith Steel will enhance the research and development of its products applying to new energy vehicles, high-end precision equipment manufacturing, wind power, and relevant national key projects, said Dong Caiping, president of Zenith Steel.
