On July 1st, the 2015 Jiangsu International Conference on Biomedicine was held in Changzhou. Deputy mayor Wang Chengbin attended the event and delivered a speech.
In the conference, about 70 overseas Chinese biomedicine professionals from the United States, Canada, Spain, and so on participated in the event and discussed about cooperation with Changzhou’s biomedical parks and enterprises in order to achieve mutual development.
The new medicine industry is one of the Ten Major Industrial Chains of Changzhou. A total of 41 pharmaceutical suppliers in Changzhou have received 787 drug registration approvals and 65 certificates for new medicines. 298 medical device manufacturers have obtained approximately 1,300 device registration certificates. Changzhou has become an important production base for the world’s orthopedic implant devices and a cluster of disposable medical device manufacturers. The enterprises above designated scale involved in the new medicine industrial chain have achieved output value of over 40 billion yuan, with the more than 5 billion yuan in profit and tax. It has grown up as an emerging industry with best profits and development prospect.
