On August 21st, CHJ Automotive held the groundbreaking ceremony for its second production base with a total investment of 5 billion RMB. Party Secretary Fei Gaoyun, and Li Xiang, CEO of Beijing CHJ Automotive, attended the event.
CHJ Automotive was founded in July 2015. Positioned as a smart transportation provider, the company is dedicated to providing smart new energy transportation solutions. We are going to launch two strategic products, i.e. small SEVs catering to short-distance urban travel needs for one or two persons, and big SUVs meeting long-distance travel needs for a family.
Its Changzhou project is located in Wujin National Hi-Tech Industrial Zone with an area of 500,000 m2. It is a two-phase project with a designed production capacity of 300,000 sets. The first-phase project has been completed and will be put into full operation this year, with an annual capacity of 200,000 sets of SEVs.
The second production base, with a total investment of 5 billion RMB, is expected to have an annual capacity of 100,000 sets of SUVs. It will introduce laser welding technology and extensive use of welding robots to achieve 100% automated production.
After putting into operation, the base will be able to provide 4,000 jobs.
