On July 6th and 7th, the 2017 World Graphene Innovation Conference is held in Changzhou. As a part of the 2017 Cooperation Symposium for Top Universities and Institutes, the World Graphene Innovation Conference is co-sponsored by the Provincial CPC Committee of Jiangsu and the Provincial People's Government of Jiangsu. More than 500 officials and scholars from home and abroad attend the event.
Known as a wonder material for its unusual properties, graphene is 200 times stronger than the strongest steel. The substance is efficiently conductive, flexible and almost transparent.
The first graphene research institute in China, Jiangnan Graphene Research Institute, was established in September 2011 in Changzhou. In 2016, the gross output of Changzhou Graphene Science and Technology Industrial Park reached 2 billion yuan.
For this event, Changzhou organizes graphene product exhibition, achievement show, matchmaking conference and technological seminar to build a platform for domestic and international exchange and cooperation.
