In the ongoing global anti-pandemic campaign, the Tanzania-China Friendship Textile Co., Ltd., an Africa-based enterprise operated by Changzhou, is joining the mask production forces to contribute to the local fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.
Tanzania-China Friendship Textile Co., Ltd. is located in the Changzhou’s friendship city of Dar es Salaam. It is managed and operated by Changzhou Industry Investment Group. With the help of the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania, a large number of COVID-19 supplies purchased by the group are already in transit to Tanzania-China Friendship Textile Co., Ltd.
The company, formerly known as Tanzania-China Friendship Textile Factory, was established by the Chinese government in the mid-1960s as an aid project in Africa. In the past decade, the company has paid more than 12 million US dollars tax to the local government, providing jobs for nearly 2,000 people.
