BYD lately announced its monthly new energy vehicle (NEV) sales hit a record high of 201,000 in September, up 151.2 percent on an annual basis and 14.8 percent monthly.
In September, its production base in the Xinbei district of Changzhou delivered 7,000 Seal-model EVs. So far, the BYD Changzhou facility has produced over 10,000 Seals in total.
The BYD Seal model, announced in May, started customer deliveries at the end of July. The number of orders exceeded 80,000 by the end of August.
Starting mass production in 2022, the BYD Changzhou base has so far produced more than 115,000 EVs of Yuan Plus (known as Atto 3 overseas) and Seal models, accounting for over 10 percent of BYD’s monthly manufacturing capacity nationwide.
The Changzhou facility’s monthly manufacturing capacity is expected to exceed 30,000 by the end of this year, with the estimated sales surpassing 30 billion yuan.
