On Sept. 18th, Intersurgical (Changzhou) Co., Ltd., the first British medical device company in Changzhou, held its groundbreaking ceremony.
Intersurgical, founded in 1982, is Europe’s leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of medical devices for respiratory support. It provides flexible patient solutions for airway management, anesthesia, critical care, and oxygen & aerosol therapy primarily for use within the hospital environment but also in the home. In addition to the two production bases in UK, Intersurgical also has production facilities in Lithuania and Italy, as well as new plants in construction in Changzhou and Brazil. Currently, Intersurgical has more than 2,000 employees around the world, with an annual turnover of more than 140 million euros, equivalent to 1.3 billion yuan.
The high-end disposable anesthesia breathing products produced by Intersurgical entered the Chinese market in 2008. Intersurgical (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. is its first solely-funded production base in China, mainly supplying four categories of products, including oropharyngeal airway management, anesthesia, critical care, and oxygen & aerosol therapy. The total investment is £ 9,000,000, with the registered capital of £ 3,600,000. The project is expected to be completed in the second half of 2015.
