On September 27th, Changzhou held a reception marking the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. City leaders Mr. Yan Li, Mr. Yao Xiaodong, Mr. Cai Jun, Mr. Yu Zhiping, Mr. Fang Guoqiang, and Mr. Zhu Jianwei attended the reception. A total of 160 guests joined this party, including the representatives of the honorary citizens, the senior officials of foreign-funded enterprises in Changzhou, the experts in fields of economy, culture, education, science and technology, the foreign dignitaries visiting Changzhou, the delegates from international sister cities, the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots and overseas Chinese representatives, as well as the directors of municipal departments.
At the reception, Mayor Yao gave an address on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal People's Congress, the Municipal People’s Government and the Municipal Committee of CPPCC. In his speech, Yao extended a warm welcome to all the guests attending the reception; expressed sincere gratitude to the foreigners, honorary citizens, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots, and overseas Chinese returnees entrepreneurs who have always been concerned about Changzhou’s economic construction, scientific and technological innovation, and social development; and extended festive greetings to all workers involved in different sectors and the people of the city.
