The Changzhou Committee on Safety of Medicines was recently established with 22 member departments, including the Changzhou Municipal Intermediate People's Court, the Municipal People's Procuratorate, and the Publicity Department of CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee.
Li Lin, a member of the Standing Committee of CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and executive deputy mayor of Changzhou, was appointed the chairperson of the Committee on Safety of Medicines. Deputy mayors Xu Huaqin and Xia Sijun were appointed deputy chairpersons.
The Committee, with its office in the Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, is responsible for organizing, coordinating, supervising, assessing, and evaluating the safety of medicines (including medical devices and cosmetics) citywide.
Its goal is to constantly improve the management system for the safety of medicines and enhance interdepartmental collaboration and information sharing.
