From December 15 to December 16, the CRRC Qishuyan Institute delivered the last batch of CDA5B1 metre-gauge AC transmission diesel locomotives to the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). This project, with 50 locomotives in total, is the largest single vehicle order in the history of Thai Railways.
It will take about a month for the remaining 15 locomotives to arrive in Thailand by sea from Longwu Port in Shanghai. As of writing, the first 20 locomotives delivered to the SRT have been in operation. And the second batch of 15 locomotives are currently undergoing all the necessary tests to ensure they are ready to enter service.
