On January 24, the Changzhou Association of Taiwan-invested Enterprises held a New Year Reception for representatives of Taiwan businessmen and consultants of Taiwan-funded companies in Changzhou. More than 400 people participated in the reception. Yan Li, Party Secretary of Changzhou, attended the reception and addressed the event.
Yan expressed season's greetings and gratitude to all Taiwan businessmen in Changzhou and local departments supporting the development of Taiwan-funded enterprises. He hoped that these enterprises will be able to seize new opportunities and realize a new round of growth, and that the Changzhou Association of Taiwan-invested Enterprises will play a larger role in promoting economic cooperation between Changzhou and Taiwan.
In 2014, 26 Taiwan-funded enterprises were newly established in Changzhou. Up to now, Changzhou homes nearly 1,300 Taiwan-funded enterprises and over 1,500 Taiwan businessmen. Last year, the total investment of Taiwan enterprises reached $ 323 million, increased by 20%; and several major projects like AeroJones Aviation and Fujian Fuzhen Metal Packing were successfully launched in Changzhou.
In addition, thanks to these Taiwan businessmen’s support, direct flights from Changzhou to Taipei will be opened on February 1 this year.
